Aims of the Society

Aim:

Dedicated to a reassessment of Richard III’s life and reign and the study of fifteenth-century life, English history, and culture.

 Purpose:

  • To promote research into the life and times of Richard III.
  • To secure a reassessment of the material relating to this period and of the role and reputation in English history of this monarch
  • To further the above aims through the publication of a quarterly journal, The Ricardian, and a bulletin circulated to all members.
  • To arrange, through the Committee and Branch Committees in their own areas, appropriate historical and social activities.

The Society is open to all, historian and lay-person alike. It is a group of people who are interested in the life, character and times of Richard III.
